Where: Along Mirrormont Way @ about 25100

My daughter and her friend were harassed by 2 teenage/highschool boys driving a black jeep (with maybe some tan on it). The girls (7th graders) were walking along Mirrormont Way heading west somewhere around the 25100 block at about 7:20pm on Saturday May 15th. The black jeep drove by and the girls noticed the vehicle because it slowed down and they saw that the teenage boys were looking at them. The black jeep drove by again, this time speeding and they threw something at the girls. At that point the girls were scared and decided to get further off the road and into the bushes to be hidden in case they drove by again. They didn’t think it was coming back and started back along the road – but the same jeep drove by a 3rd time, speeding very fast. At this point, the girls ducked into a nearby driveway and called me to come get them. I wanted to post this incident so you could be aware. I would hope the parents could be notified so that they are aware of their behavior.

Where: Over tiger Mt.

It appears that Seatac airport has changed it’s routing of commercial aircraft recently. We have noticed large commercial jumbo jets flying low enough that we can see the colors on the planes and can almost see that numbers on the tail as well. They are flying low and are VERY LOUD over Tiger Mountain. This morning (May 8th ) a large jet flew so low over our home in Mirrormont that the house and windows shook. Something has obviously been changed recently in the flight patterns of these planes. Please advise residents who have noticed this to call and complain. It is possible flight patterns were changed without public notification and this is not only a concern with regard to noise but also for safety. Number for complaints is: 206-787-5393 website: http://www.portseattle.org/about/contact/noisecomment.shtml

Where: 255th Ave SE near Country club

As my husband and I were taking an evening walk near the country club, a car full of teenagers continuously harassed us for no reason. A 4 door, early 2000s, silver Honda Civic drove by slowly and as they turned the corner, a young male teen in the back seat yelled multiple obscenities and threats towards us. We continued towards our home and the car came by us a second time, driving slowly, yelling more obscenities and treats. This harassment was completely unprovoked and hope to put an end to it.

Where: 256 th Ave SE

Around 7:15pm, rocks were thrown at our living room window twice. No windows were broken, but 2-3 males were seen standing at the end of our driveway in the dark, talking and throwing rocks into our front yard. The police were notified, and when told through the window that the cops were on their way, the men were confrontational verbally, but eventually left. The police did a sweep around the neighborhood, and planned to watch for anyone continuing in this behavior.

Where: 266 th Ave SE

We live on 266 th Ave SE and this morning at 6:10 a.m.  as we were leaving the house for work, we noticed that our secured, locking mailbox was open.  I had just been up on the street putting the trash can on the curb and the mail box was closed at that time, approximately 5:30 a.m.  As we drove out of Mirrormont, we noticed all locking mailboxes were open.  A thief had hit all mailboxes on Mirrormont this morning.  We also noticed some junk mail flyers on the street.  We called 911 at 6:15 a.m. and reported the incident.  We also drove through the housing area but did not see the suspects.

Where: 14000 Block 245th Ave SE

My locking mailbox was smashed or pried off the cemented steel post and stolen (with mail still in it). I saw several mailboxes smashed down a couple of weeks ago on Mirrormont Drive but I don’t see those reported here.

Where: Tiger Mountain Road near 152nd

Last Thursday Feb 5, a rock was thrown at my car, breaking through the window, on Tiger Mt Rd just north of 152nd St.  The rock was hurled from a woodsy part of the road at 7:40pm as I was driving home from Issaquah.  My 3 year old sustained minor injuries from the glass shattering into his head and neck.  Had the rock hit him, or any of the people in the car, it could have been much worse.  A case was filed with the King County Sherriff’s office.  Other residents have shared their concerns about kids throwing snowballs at cars as well.  This portion of Tiger Mountain rd. backs up to Mirrormont with many trails leading through.

December 8, 2008
