| It’s 6:00pm Monday evening, December 15. The temperature outside is 20 degrees. Our furnace stopped working. I made a call to Dirk’s. Dirk answered, took my information, and said I was 4th on his list, but he would be there tonight. Sure enough at 8:42pm his van rolls down our ice-covered driveway. Five minutes later he has the furnace running, and we have heat. This is the second time in 2 years that Dirk has come to our rescue. If you call him, be a little patient. He may not be able to give you an exact time, but take comfort knowing he will come. I know from experience that most other heating companies will not even answer their phone after 5:00pm. |

| After our concrete driveway crumbled, we priced concrete and asphalt. Since the asphalt was half the price and looks good, we went with that. Sutter Paving not only did a good job but the owner came out to make sure things were going right and figured out a tricky work around for a problem that might have stopped the project cold. | We had hardwood floors put into our dining room. Not only did Anthonie’s Hardwood Floor bid at half the price of others, they did twice as good a job. He correctly identified the kind of wood in my kitchen, then matched it in the dining room and matched the stain correctly to trim in the kitchen. The new finish (one of those toxic Swedish jobs) is stronger and looks better than the stuff I had put down 15 years ago and that lasted longer than anyone said it would. | |||

| I have had a good experience with my recent rockery and stairway and pathway building. We met them at the Bellevue Home Show in February; they came out and gave free estimates for our yard. We compared them with another company that we also met in Bellevue, and chose them for the price (which they kept) and ambitious attitude and willingness to do it our way (like hand carry or cart large rocks to our back yard without damaging grass or septic field). The team of very hardworking men created beautiful flagstone paths, stair steps with pavers and stone and granite rockery retaining walls. . Their references had told me they had great ideas for more areas that could use work and we too added another pathway and steps, which they were able to do in another day. The clean up was great too. | |||

| This past year we suspected we had a rat problem under our crawl space, and had smelled what we were sure were dead rats or mice coming up through our heat vents. John called Redi-National Pest Control, who are members of the Better Business Bureau, and they confirmed our suspicions. Upon inspection, they sent out a crew who cleaned out everything, including the ground plastic, and took out the insulation under the floor, which was a wonderful rat’s nest. They replaced the plastic, and we had them add insulation to all the attic space, but not in the crawl space. They puts traps in strategic places around the outside of the house, and do monthly inspections. They always call first, and are very courteous and thorough. We recommend them, also. | |||

| When we moved into our home in 2001, we loved it…but it was so dark! After all, this is Mirrormont. We decided that when the roof needed replacing we would also put in skylights. Sure enough, after some extreme rains in 2005, we noticed wet spots on our ceiling and knew the time had come. We contacted Allied Construction, who had done a superb job on reroofing our home in Bellevue, and they came out very quickly. They put temporary tarps over the leaking spots and immediately arranged a time to decide on our roof type and get it going. The owner had previously worked for AAA Skylights, who he recommended, and we arranged to have them put in skylights at the same time. It all worked out very well, and everything was done in a few days. We highly recommend them. | |||
